Cloudpepper vs OEC.sh: the facts

OEC.sh publishes a comparison page about Cloudpepper. Much of it does not match what Cloudpepper actually ships. Below are the claims that page makes about Cloudpepper, each checked against Cloudpepper's published pricing and documentation on 12 June 2026.

2,000+ customers run Odoo on Cloudpepper across 130+ countries

The claims, checked

Bring your own cloud

OEC.sh's page says

“All Cloudpepper plans are hosted on Cloudpepper's infrastructure only - no option to use your own cloud provider (AWS, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, etc.).”

The facts

You can bring your own cloud. Connect servers from AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Hetzner, Vultr, DigitalOcean, OVHcloud — or any server over SSH, in any region, with full root access. You pay your provider directly; Cloudpepper adds no markup. Cloudpepper-managed servers are an option, not a requirement. See pricing.

Server locations

OEC.sh's page says

“Limited geographic options” — against OEC.sh's “40+ regions worldwide”.

The facts

Bring your own cloud and run Odoo in any region of any provider — the same public-cloud regions OEC.sh counts. Region choice on Cloudpepper is not limited.

Instances per server

OEC.sh's page says

“Single instance per server.”

The facts

Base runs 2 Odoo instances. Pro and Agency run unlimited instances per server — as many as the hardware handles, with no per-instance fee.

Git integration

OEC.sh's page says

“Cloudpepper supports GitHub integration only.”

The facts

Pro and Agency deploy custom modules from GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or self-hosted Git, with auto-deploy on push. Base includes GitHub plus direct .zip upload.

Backup destinations

OEC.sh's page says

“Limited backup storage choices.”

The facts

On Pro and Agency, automated backups go to your own Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob, Amazon S3, any S3-compatible store — which covers Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, and MinIO — or SFTP. Every paid plan can also store backups externally with Cloudpepper at $0.02/GB.

Staging environments

OEC.sh's page says

“Additional fees for staging.”

The facts

There is no staging fee on any plan. Base includes 1 staging environment in its $29/mo price; Pro and Agency include unlimited staging environments.

White-label for agencies

OEC.sh's page says

“Limited branding options” for agencies.

The facts

The Agency plan is a white-label platform: a client portal on your own domain with your logo, custom user roles, REST API access, and instance templates. See partners.

Community Edition

OEC.sh's page says

“Enterprise focus” — Community Edition users not first-class.

The facts

Odoo Community and Enterprise both run on every plan, versions 11 through 19, with 900+ free OCA modules included. See Odoo Community hosting.

The Cloudpepper price card

OEC.sh's page says

The “Cloudpepper Pricing (2026)” table: four plans — Starter at $29/mo, Professional at $79/mo, Business at $162/mo, Enterprise at $262/mo.

The facts

Cloudpepper has three paid plans — Base at $29/mo, Pro at $49/mo, and Agency at $250/mo — plus a free Core plan. None of the four plans named on OEC.sh's page exist, and three of the four prices match nothing we publish. See pricing.

Pricing transparency

OEC.sh's page says

“Hidden fees for staging environments, additional storage, or support can increase your monthly costs unexpectedly.”

The facts

One flat platform fee plus the server price, both shown before checkout. No per-user fees, no per-worker fees, no staging fees, and support is included from the Base plan. Backup storage is published at $0.02/GB.

Data ownership

OEC.sh's page says

“Provider-managed infrastructure” — you don't own your data.

The facts

On your own cloud, servers stay in your account under your root access. The databases sit on hardware you control, and that doesn't change if you leave.

The $300/month example, recalculated

OEC.sh's page prices one workload — 10 users, 2 Odoo instances, 50 GB of storage, production plus staging — at an estimated $300/month on Cloudpepper. On published pricing, the same workload costs $54/month.

Line item OEC.sh's estimate Published Cloudpepper pricing
Hosting plan (2 instances) $150/mo Base plan — includes both instances, the staging environment, and support: $29/mo
Server not itemized Cloudpepper Medium — 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 100 GB disk, rated for 125 users: $24/mo
Storage & backups (50 GB) $25/mo External backup storage at $0.02/GB: $1/mo
Staging environment $75/mo Included in the plan: $0
Support & management $50/mo Included in the plan: $0
Total $300/mo $54/mo

For reference: the same OEC.sh page advertises its own recommended setup at $63/month for this exact workload. On published pricing, Cloudpepper comes in under it.

Can I bring my own cloud provider to Cloudpepper?

Yes. Connect AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Hetzner, Vultr, DigitalOcean, OVHcloud, or any other server over SSH — in any region, with full root access. You pay your cloud provider directly. Cloudpepper-managed servers are available from $12/mo if you'd rather not bring your own. See pricing.

Does Cloudpepper support GitLab or Bitbucket?

Server cost is shown separately — Cloudpepper servers start at $12/month, or connect your own and pay your provider directly. Full breakdown on the pricing page.

Does Cloudpepper charge extra for staging environments?

No. Base includes 1 staging environment; Pro and Agency include unlimited staging environments. There is no staging surcharge on any plan.

Does Cloudpepper support Odoo Community Edition?

Who owns the servers and the data on Cloudpepper?

When you bring your own cloud to Cloudpepper, you own the servers and the data: they live in your provider account under your root access, and your databases sit on hardware you control.
