What if I need more than 2 Odoo instances?
Can I host multiple Odoo instances on the server?
Yes you can create up to two instances with the included management plan (Base). You can also upgrade your Odoo hosting management subscription from Base to Pro at any time from the Cloudpepper dashboard. The Pro subscription allows you to host as many Odoo instances as you need – there is no limit.
What is an Odoo worker?
An Odoo worker is a background process on the server that runs your Odoo code and handles user requests (opening screens, saving records, generating PDFs) and background jobs. Each worker can handle a limited number of actions happening at the same time, so more workers = more concurrent users and higher traffic without slowing down. On our pricing plans, the worker count is shown so you can see how much parallel capacity you’re getting; we translate that into approximate user and traffic numbers based on Odoo performance best practices. Which server do I need for my Odoo instance?
The server size depends on the amount of Odoo workers you need. Each worker can handle around 6 concurrent users. This means 6 users performing an action on your system at the same time (also see our server sizing guide). This amount also depends on the customizations on your instance, as some custom queries might take a longer time to load.
Can I upgrade my server at any time?
Yes. At any moment you can upgrade your managed odoo hosting with a server with more resources from your Cloudpepper dashboard. This process takes only about 1-2 minutes of downtime.
Where are my Odoo backups hosted?
Backups are hosted externally in Gravelines, France at $0.02/GB and are compressed up to 10 times smaller than your Odoo instance. The backups include everything: your database, your filestore, all your modules and any Cloudpepper settings for easy restore. You can set up as many automated backup schedules as you need (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly,…) and you can download your backpus at any time from your Cloudpepper dashboard.
If you prefer to use your own S3/SFTP storage provider, this is also possible on our Pro plan. You can upgrade from Base to Pro from your Cloudpepper dashboard.
